Electric Muscle Stimulation

The elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses. Used for rehabilitation purposes, in prevention of disuse muscle atrophy which can occur after musculoskeletal injuries (damage to bones, muscle, tendon, or ligaments), relaxation of muscle spasms, prevention or the slowing down of disuse atrophy, increasing local blood circulation, muscle re-education, immediate post-surgical stimulation to prevent venous thrombosis, maintaining or increasing ranges of motion.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Increases muscle and soft tissue relaxation, increases local blood flow to speed up the healing process, decreases scar tissue and scar tissue formation, can reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation (tendonitis) therefor decreasing pain.

Thermotherapy/ Moist Heat Therapy (hot packs)

Increases blood supply to the area it is applied which increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients and elimination of carbon dioxide and metabolic waste, decreases muscle spasms/muscle contractures, myalgia/fibromyalgia (muscle and fiber pain,) relief of tension, decreases joint stiffness and increases flexibility of the body tissues, reduces pain.

Cryotherapy (ICE therapy)

Acts as an analgesic decreasing pain, decreases swelling and inflammation, increases muscle relaxation. Promotes delayed onset muscle soreness in athletes.

Neuromuscular Re-Education Techniques

Decreases scar tissue formation, lengthens shortened muscle and decreases pain and tightness/stiffness/pulling, improves joint mobility and ranges of motion, improves balance, posture, and proprioception, improves blood circulation to the areas speeding up the healing process.

Kinesiotaping

Provides support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It is also used for preventative maintenance, edema, and to treat pain. This technique can benefit a wide variety of musculoskeletal and sports injuries, plus inflammatory conditions

Manual Therapy

Lymphatic drainage, manual traction, mobilization and muscle techniques
